- Safety and Emergency Equipment
You should never go out on the water unless you have the
appropriate safety equipment for the location and the conditions. NSW law
states that there must be a correctly fitting PFD type 1 life jacket for each
occupant of the vessel (including infants), two paddles, an anchor with
appropriate lengths of chain and rope, and at least one bailing bucket. In
addition to this, it is recommended that you carry a "V" sheet, flares, wet
weather jackets and if you're going out to sea, an EPIRB and Marine Radio.
